Plane with almost 150 people on board crashes in France

Preliminary data suggests that the accident occurred in the French Alps.

According to BFM.TV, the information has been already confirmed by police and aviation authorities.

French media say there were 142 passengers and 6 crew members on board. Their fate is still unknown.

The plane had a route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. The plane crash occurred near the town of Barselonnet and Digne-les-Bains.

The flight was operated by Germanwings, a subsidiary of Lufthansa.

French President Francois Hollande has already made a request to start the search-and-rescue operation to study the details of the tragedy. According to him, based on data from the place of the wreckage, there is very low chance that anyone had survived in the plane crash.
