Nearly 1,500 illegal immigrants rescued off the coast of Italy

Hundreds of illegal migrants from Africa are trying to get to Italy by boat through the Mediterranean on a daily basis. 

Italy once again faced with the need to rescue illegal immigrants in the Mediterranean
The Italian Coast Guard and Navy rescued nearly 1,500 migrants from North Africa solely for the last day. The "SOS" was signaled by three boats with illegal migrants. All of the boats headed to Italy from Libya.

716 illegal immigrants were rescued by the Coast Guard vessel "Dattilo." 350 people were brought to the board of "Fiorillo," also owned by the Italian Coast Guard. Another 450 people from Africa were rescued by the Italian Navy.

This is not the first time Italy faces the rescuing of illegal immigrants in the Mediterranean.
