Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham have issued a joint statement.

Senators issued a statement blaming the West for what had happened in Debaltseve.
US Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham have issued a joint statement accusing the West of inaction and calling the ceasefire deal on the Donbas as "ridiculous piece of paper."

"Since yesterday, this ridiculous piece of paper has not done anything to prevent the death of dozens more Ukrainian soldiers and stop giving up other sovereign Ukrainian territories to Putin and his protégé," – says the statement on the events in Debaltseve.

"Putin has achieved its military objectives in Debaltseve and we fear that Western leaders, rather than admitting the brutal reality of Russian actions, will let Putin to continue arguing that he promotes peace," – announced McCain and Graham.

Senators harshly criticized the Western leaders, including the US President Barack Obama, who, they say, has continued to "carefully consider" military assistance at a time when Russian and pro-Russian militants killed almost unarmed Ukrainian soldiers.

"Ukrainians have the will to resist the aggression and do not ask anyone to fight for them. They only ask defenders of democracy to give them money to protect their country from the aggressor. Shame on us for letting down Ukrainians," – summed up the senators.

On February 13, John McCain has already said that the Minsk agreements are only advantageous for Putin. According to him, the night when Putin was discussing peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, 50 tanks, 40 missile systems and 40 armored vehicles entered Ukraine.
