Canada's Air Force inflicts blows on ISIS in Syria

Two F-18 fighters have been used in the operation.

More than 200,000 people have been killed throughout the conflict.
The Canadian fighter-bombers have struck the ISIS militants' positions for the first time since the start of a military campaign against the group.

The air strikes on ISIS militants have taken place in the area of Ar-Raqqah. 10 coalition aircrafts have been involved in the operation, including two Canadian and six American planes.

In late March this year, the Canadian Parliament extended the country's participation in the international operation to combat the ISIS. Thus, the Canadian military will be involved in the operation until March next year.

The Syrian civil war began in March 2011 during the "Arab Spring." Currently, the ISIS controls about half of the country. More than 200,000 people have been killed throughout the conflict.
