According to the PM, if the situation in eastern Ukraine stabilizes, it will have a positive impact on the economy.
This has been announced by the PM Yatsenyuk in his interview to the "1 + 1" TV Channel.
"I want to be calm more than careful on the issue of exchange rate policy. This is the competence of the National Bank; everyone should be responsible for his own sphere. But, we negotiated with the IMF together and received the first $ 5 billion that went to stabilize the exchange rate. They are now in reserves, the rest – is also in reserves, but in governmental. The money will be directed to make the external payments. Now, we stabilized the exchange rate, and a lot depends on military situation," – commented PM Yatsenyuk.
He added that, if the situation in eastern Ukraine stabilizes, it will have a positive impact on the Ukrainian economy.
In March, the International Monetary Fund predicted the exchange rate at UAH 22/USD throughout this year.Source: tsn.ua
