National Bank: Ukrainian economy goes down by 3.5% for 9 months

By the end of 2014, Ukraine's GDP could shrink by 7%, according to the NBU.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) estimates the drop in gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in January-September, 2014 at 3.5%. This was reported to journalists by the head of the NBU Valeria Hontareva.

However, she stressed that the final statistics could be even better this assessment.

Hontareva also said that the NBU has improved the evaluation of the fall of Ukraine's GDP by the end of 2014 from 9% to 7%.

Recall that according to the State Service of Statistics, the decline of Ukraine's GDP in the third quarter of 2014 was 5.1%.

Earlier, Hontareva has stated that the IMF might increase credits amount to Ukraine.
