National Bank forecasts drop in economy next year

Ukraine's GDP to fall not only in 2014 but in 2015, though at a slower pace.

National Bank of Ukraine predicts drop in GDP in 2015 to 4.3%. This was reported by the head of the NBU Valeriya Hontareva on the Fifth Ukrainian Investment Forum.

"I can not tell you now about such things as the growth of the economy. Because these things would most likely look like a joke. We expect the economic decline in the next year at 4.3%," said Hontareva.

According to her, in 2014 the National Bank predicts decline in GDP of 7.3%.

On Nov. 18, Prime Minister Yatsenyuk said that the economy of Ukraine in 2014 would be reduced by 7%. By the National Bank, Ukrainian economy went down by 3.5% for 9 months.
