Tariff of UAH 3,600 per 1,000 cubic meters will be effective only for the volumes of less than 200 cubic meters per month and only during the heating season.
The appropriate decision has been made by the National Commission for energy and utilities regulation.
This price will be effective for the volumes of 200 cubic meters per month and only during the heating season (October 1 through April 30).
The volume of more than 200 cubic meters per month and not consumed during the heating season will be paid 7,188 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters.
The gas price for hot water will increase from UAH 1,182 to UAH 7,188 per 1,000 cubic meters.
On average, gas prices for the population will increase by 285%, which is consistent with the provisions of the memorandum between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the IMF.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine has promised the IMF to gradually increase energy tariffs by 2017. Nevertheless, the Cabinet will allocate UAH 12.5 billion for targeted subsidies to compensate for the higher gas prices.Source: Interfax-Ukraine
